I thought Paul Simon had got around pretty well, I'm begining to believe Frankie Valli may have him beat. Frankie's been around since 1954, that's a long time!

Here's some interesting info on this song. If you search out "King Of The Mountain" by CHUCK JACKSON on youtube you will find out that the background music is identical! I just recently discovered this as I listened to Chuck's ENCORE! lp on the WAND label!

And this song was later covered by The 4 Seasons themselves, with Valli's soaring falsetto outdoing this version.

I don't think I can agree with that. Don't miss understand me, Frankie has a MEGA voice, but Hal has some real class, nice Virgil Johnson style voice, I happen to be a huge Velvets fan.

This song is featured in "Jersey Boys" as part of a sequence when the (obviously frustrated) Seasons are doing backing vocals for Bob Crewe's singers. I go to the show every three weeks and will listen with renewed interest now I've heard this. You post some brilliant stuff!!
