And now we go to Warsaw, Poland, where history buffs and reenactment actors take part in a mock battle to commemorate the 181st anniversary of the November Uprising. The event was put on by the Warsaw History Museum.
History buffs and re-enactment actors relive a historic battle for Warsaw on the 181st anniversary of the November Uprising.
[Jan Nalecz, Reenactment Actor]:
"The November Uprising was a rebellion against oppression by Tsarist Russia, a revolt by Poles living in the Kingdom of Poland in the first half of the 19th century."
The event, co-organised by the Warsaw History Museum, is a real live history lesson.
[Jan Nalecz, Reenactment Actor]:
"The rebellion broke out because Poles refused to put up with the Tsar's rule. Too many demands, too little freedom and autonomy. In those days the Kingdom of Poland was completely subordinated to Russia."
One of the attractions is an exhibition devoted to a unique November Uprising hero - a woman named Barbara Czarnowska.
[Ewa Rozanowska, Art Historian]:
"This exhibition's about a young woman who left behind her home, her family, the things she enjoyed - so the entire life of a young woman in the 19th century - and joined the army. She fought in the November Uprising, breaking all the conventions of the day."
Czarnowska received the highest military honours - the so-called Virtuti Militari cross - for her role in the November Uprising.
[Patryk Jaworek, Assistant, Wola Museum]:
"Barbara Czarnowska was the only woman to receive a class five Virtuti Militari cross for combat. She served in a cavalry platoon."
The numerically superior Russian army crushed the revolution within a year. But historians say the November Uprising played an important role in Poland's long-lasting struggle for independence.
[Jan Nalecz, Reenactment Actor]:
"This uprising gave Poles hope. It inspired a series of revolts that eventually, in 1918, after World War I, led to full independence."

Nie do pomyślenia... Widać kto rządzi wszystkim i nie dopuszcza do emisji takich programów. My i tak nie zapomnimy o naszych Bohaterach! CWP!
