This is my No1 video on YouTube, what a wonderful sound, tone, imagination, I play a Buescher True-tone made in the thirties with a Selmer scroll D mouthpiece made in the fifties, a great sound but?

@TheDasright See your point, I have never wanted to try the clarinet myself. Good luck with your assignment - the experience will be useful. If your interested in more Johnny H recordings, I can highly recommend the double CD 'The Jeep Is Jumpin' (Living ERA CD AJS 2021).

@SaxJockey I understand and agree with what you are saying, except i would rather not compare his playing to that of the devil-stick that is the clarinet. Haha I learning to play the clarinet, and i already play the sax, but i hate the clarinet, but i have to learn it for a piece we are playing in my jazz band. Lol im just joking. This solo is beautiful.

Just love this performance, the way Johnny goes from a soft toned (somewhat clarinet like) sound at 1.31 through to a rip roaring finale from 2.00 is quite brilliant.
