  • Hate the 2020... we use one on our station - It's getting replaced soon... Shame - because I want to like it...

  • On the west coast, the desired mic for interior dialogue was actually the Schoeps Colette hypercardiod. Accurate sound, high output, and most especially, no serious coloration from off-axis sounds. This is not as common as one might think.

    A 416 outdoors? A nice little bump at 4k? Sure, why not.

  • the 416 has a "cinematic sound" perhaps because it's usually the standard shotgun mic used for live production sound, ie, most dialog we hear in movies is recorded with this very mic (except for dubbing or levallier mics)
