This is a neat project, but it will work better with fewwer blades, 3 is optimum for bother power and stablity. 5 is very good at starting a high torque load, but every quickly drops in efficency as the rpms go up and the blades begin fighting each other. 3 blades is the perfect ballance for power and vibrations.

@pspplayer21 it might just turn too slowly... i actually didn't get a thing out of such a motor until i didn't spun it wth the help of a bicycle wheel (put the toy car wheel to a spinning bike wheel)

does it mean when the motor spins the opposite way, it generates electricity

you add a magnet and you wont need wind.

How much money did you spend on the parts? :)
what about a moter from a trendmill will that work? and where do u get those wires and that volt meter? and is there anyway to connect this to a lightbulb or something that uses energy to see that it works?

@xXVampireKiraXx A treadmill motor will work if it a permanent magnet type. Volt meter can be bought from any hardware store. A LED will light up with this small windmill.

@pspplayer21 Mabey the motor is burnt out or brushes are old. Try spin it and see if there is an output voltage.
