I wonder when the original poetry was written? The music seems to match it very well. We sometimes sing it in our Sacrament Service and I love it.

@heythisistheday The composer/arranger is Michael W Smith. It was originally done with a boy soprano singing the first verse, the boy choir singing the second and a full adult choir joining on the third verse.
