Some people use sticks for this drill. I use cones, you can also use mini hurdles. These drills will increase leg speed recovery. The first cone drill the stride length is fixed, for the second one it varies.

  • when people are actually sprinting their heels dont touch the ground?

  • It depends on the type of shoe you wear and if you foot hits the ground under your hips or not.

    They should not touch but other factors take place at times that make them touch.

  • Yes, the biggest issue with increasing stride length is your feet and leg recovery speed slows down. this is a way to learn to maintain and increase it without having choppy steps.
