Targinnie was a small community of mango and paw paw farmers located 15 minutes from Gladstone, QLD. When locals were approached by a foreign company wishing to develop the nearby oil shale deposit, they were promised jobs, an economic boom and a mine that you would not be able to "hear, smell or see". This is the first half of an interview with ex Targinnie resident, Peter Harland.
