A 2:16 Marathoner reviews one of four Brooks Pure Project Shoes. The "Pure Cadence" is designed with a touch of stability and weighs in at 9.5 ounces. It is low profile (4mm drop), flexible shoe designed to promote a more natural footstrike when runnning.

  • Thanks for the video!

I just started running (well I run on the treadmill) but would you recommend these for a beginner runner? I'm also training for the smaller marathons as well.

    Thanks!

  • @jjbran635 depends on what you are running in now. The Brooks Pure Project line actually has 4 different models: The Pure Flow, Pure Cadence, Pure Grit, and the Pure Connect. Depending on how much you pronate the Pure Flow or the Pure Cadence would probably be your best bet. A good idea would be to go to a local running store and have them watch you run/walk. A lot of runners have 2 pairs of shoes (one of them could be a Pure shoe) that you run in for half of your runs.

  • just bought this shoe in the womans and will neverbe able to go back to ordinary running shoes, ive been addicted to assics all along till i tried these on and ran in them!!

  • I just picked up this shoe and so far it has been a great addition to my running. Good job Brooks!

  • Also be sure to check out the Brooks Pure Project "Pure Grit" trail shoe. It weighs a tad more and has better traction. You could also get both! - one for the roads and one for the trails. These Pure Project shoes also pair well with your regular trainers (Brooks Adrenaline, Defyance, Ravenna, Ghost, etc.)
