"Beautiful People" remix - vlog 4: first day down

This is part four of a vlog documenting the development of my remix for "Beautiful People" by Pet Shop Boys. The song will be the third single lifted from their magnificent album, "Yes".

Post studio, pre show.

Here's a little more background on the mix. As I mentioned in an earlier vlog, I'm keeping the integrity of the song in tact. That made it easier simply because I have all the instrumentation from the original PSB production to work with.

I used the original guitars throughout most of the new production. Also, to my amazement, there was a track in the session which appeared to be a sub mix of the instrumental without drums or percussion. With a little low end filtering, I was able to incorporate that into the mix to give it a close relationship with the original album version.

For those who want to know, the original is 122 BPM. The new production is 132 BPM

Thanks a million for this videos and sharing with us all the process! It´s sounding incredibly good!!! Congratulations Vinnie!! I just hope all three mixes were available on commercial releases, so we (the fans) don´t need to spend big time and money trying to put our hands on promo stuff...I hope!! (altough I don´t think we're going to be that lucky :/ )
