The Chamber Orchestra Kremlin commisioned its Principal Violinist, Eskender Bekmambetov, to compose a suite for percussionist, Frank Colon. He composed a brilliant 7-movement suite entitled, "Adoracion al Ritmo", designed to showcase Frank´s melodic Latinjazz avant-guard percussion, while simultaneously serving as a cultural bridge between artistic dimensions. Conductor Misha Rachslevsky deftly guides his orchestra through the cadenzas that Frank interprets improvisationally in a free and open manner. Frank, in this piece of the suite, was called to use the berimbau to produce arpeggios and reproduce the melody line written for the cellos, the contrabass and the berimbau, something that was never done before!
Lost for words, how elevating a thought that music can regenerate in so many ways.

Incredible. I have never seen this instrument before, but that was pretty cool.

I don't think that I've ever see or heard a berimbau used in this way before! Amazing!
