hi~ I have a question, why do we need to know the quantum numbers? when would we actually use them? I don't get what you mean by: it's only there for us explain electrons found in atoms all the time, what does it mean by principle energy level?^^ thnanks

@mysstring1 As far as I know, chemists/physicists just "invented" this system of quantum numbers to explain the way things are. We still don't know WHY they are this way, but that's just how it is. Maybe some quantum physicist can explain it to us someday...
