  • This music is just incredible. I love the way Hines' music builds thru the film until, in Pt II, "Stanley's Dance" and then "Say it isn't So" are just magical. Wow, just Wow - and thank you.

  • In some of the passages I felt that I was in the room with THE MAN and he was playing just for me. A rare privelege.

  • so this must have been made by ATV in 1973 - and he still had another whole decade to go!

  • love earl!

  • wow !!!

  • he is one of the greatest jazz musician ... love him already

  • Fatha Hines has his fingers in all the Jazz since I was a child (born 1933). What a wonderful musician and he just keeps on bringing it.

  • i just keep coming back to this documentary - it's so naturalistic in a way modern docs aren't. they just put the camera on him and let him talk... theycleaner really strings it together too - it's just a beautiful slice of life.

it doesnt surprise me that hines seems so good natured, it's right there in his music. the man had a sublime talent. the version of "Say It Isnt so" around 35 mins is just beautiful, poginant and moving in equal measure.

    thanks so much for sharing.
