Being and avid hiker-living in Central Oregon. Hiking the Iran/Iraq border has never crossed my mind. If you are that bored come visit Central Oregon- my girlfriend and I will feed you--our two yellow labs will give you plenty of good luck and love.

We have thousands of trail miles-- if you get stuck or find you're in trouble you are only minutes away from Evac-- providing you have the the proper gear.

Just be safe- the wilderness is no joke especially in a war zone.

Exactly, Americans have been found before as genuine spies in Iran, ie: Jan.18 an American women crossing from Armenia was arrested and found with a device in her mouth for espionage. So it genuinely does happen, not to mention the massive Israeli spy operations in the country which carry out terror attacks & assassinations of important people (ie: of scientist Ali-Mohammadi), with some spies caught.

The woman in this case was released by Iran anyway.

No, spies are hung in Iran, and that's the way it should be.

The USA used to put them to the electric chair (ie: Julius and Ethel Rosenberg) but not sure how they would kill them now.

Heh- What were they thinking? "Hey guys we have the week off let's go hiking in Iraq." There were plenty of other places to see and hike in the middle east and they chose Iraq. These hikers are clueless. They need to lay off the hash and come back down to reality. Now the Iranian government has done that for them.

well our media does not show what Iran found on them. What if they are spies? Still dumb though, when U.S found Russian spies they dint hold them they just released them back to Russia.
