@Ladysivak or perhaps they have never been exposed to the dozens of fantasy and science fiction epics from which this author pulled his influences. My feeling was that this book was nothing special because, if I may be so blunt, "it's been done," and it's been done much. much better.
-
@Ladysivak It's an overused and overly traditional Tolkienien "epic," with "epic" in quotes because it lacks exactly that epic nature that made the world of Lord of the Rings so rich. There was absolutely nothing new or "unexpected" in this book (though the author claims there are "revelations"),and if readers find this book exciting, they are probably reacting to the concepts themselves (e.g., fantasy worlds, dragons, fierce battles) rather than the book's own merit,

@MrDavidX96 Best books ever...XD
-
@Ladysivak a heck of a lot of reviewers seam to think so and they have a point: they have dwarfs, elves and magic... actually thats where the simularities end, people are just nit-picking really. oh and even though ive heard of it i have no idea what dragonlance is
-
@MrDavidX96 how is eragon similar to lotr? Dragonlance is similar to lotr, but I fail to see how eragon is...
-
eating whats in the toilet is better than wathing eragon, the books were good, i liked them, but they were too simular to lotr (people that say its starwars are stupid and dont get that starwars is a cluster of old ideas brought together well). but the movie sucked more than a holywood whore
