This video is misleading, the context of Matt 12 does not use the word blasphemy in the way you explained. Clearly blasphemy references "the act of claiming the attributes of deity"(Merriam-Webster). Pharisees claimed that Jesus' miracles were of Evil. A Christian cannot commit this sin because the Holy Spirit convicts the heart. How can the Holy Spirit not depart if it is blasphemed? If one feels guilty of this sin then the Holy Spirit is still present. God knows the heart. God Bless!!

@chica0616 I think you should at least look at a Greek dictionary or examples of usage rather than Webster's, which is less than 200 years old. The Pharisees weren't claiming attributes of deity. They were accusing the Holy Spirit of being a devil. They were villifying the Spirit. Unregenerate people can claim to be Christians. They can also feel guilt. Go ask a Hindu or a Muslim if he/she has ever felt guilt.

Many will come to the Lord Jesus in that day and say, "Lord, Lord" but He will cast them out as workers of iniquity. Btw, you can KNOW you have eternal life because of loving your neighbor. You can know because of your fruit. According to Matthew 12, a good tree does not bring forth evil fruit. What kind of fruit is blaspheming the Holy Spirit?

God had Ezekiel serve as a watchman on the wall. He was not exempt from his responsibility if someone he witnessed to wasn't predestined to life. His responsibility was to speak the word of God.

@Link, your right some things are not consistent with Gods character. Everything we teach has to be interpreted through Gods character. I think the context of these verses tells us that blasphemy of the holy spirit is more than lip service or a slip of the tongue. Evil must precede from the heart with the intention of discrediting The work of Christ with clear evidence. I think that's the context. He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death into life. I am assuming that he that does die with unbelief will not as easily pass over condemnation, Everlasting life is given to those who believeth on Jesus Christ and his purpose, his purpose is defined by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our need to obey God, this feeling convicts us when we do wrong. It is the good that lives in us from God.

@tiffanycutieful Tell the Lord you need help with the sin. If you are a believer your sins are forgiven, but God does not want you to be held hostage to "besetting" sin. Pray, read the Bible, Fellowship. those three will fortify your spirit. Just remember that your perfection is imputed (loaned to you) by Christ. You will sin, but you have an avenue of forgiveness.
