Warsaw Zoo Aquarium

Here is a brief tour around Warsaw Zoo's Aquarium. It is not a big aquarium - some shops contain more species, but the quality of the fishkeeping and the tank layouts are the compensating aspect. It is also the only aquarium I know which is supervised day and night by a pair of chimpanzees.

Aquariums always create interest. Is the hobby particularly popular in Poland? In the years I kept tanks we had external filters,,,but I understand the accent is on undergravel now? Thanks for posting.

People do like undergravel, but only because they've forgotten how easily undergravel filters can go anaerobic. (You see them down the gym pumping iron most nights).

This place is awesome. THe only thing I have to complain about is mixing A.cichilds with S.A.cichilds. But, perhaps the red devil or midas is tough enough to take car of himself.

Lol, I used to work in a public aquarium, the NEMO and DORY yells really brought back memories. Otherwise, pretty basic fish and small tanks, but the planted fresh water tanks look pretty good. I'm probably still gonna check that place out when I go to Poland.
