  • Hi Davie,

I've been wondering this for a while, does your bobbin holder touch when there is no bobbin in the grips or is there always a gap?

I have one that touches and one that doesnt but the one that doesnt seems to be quite loose and you cant really get your thread that tight and the one that does touch when im using 8/0 thread it breaks it very easily.

    Thanks

    ~David

  • Hi WEESTRAWZ,

They did touch when I first bought them but I ajusted the arms to fit the normal size bobbins by bending them so the the Bobbin holder allows the thread to flow smoothly from it, this is very important as you'll have less breakages and wear on your thread..

    All the best Davie

  • Hi Davie,

I'm trying to find the rib but can't. Is it still available? Thanks for all your help. It's amazing how easy you have made fly tying for me.

This is a banker fly. Can it be bought?

    Kind regards

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

I originally bought this material from Gordon Griffiths it was called glitter body, but if you use a few strands of a blue flash the same colour or blue holographic tinsel it will still work..

I'm glad you liked the videos..

    All the best Davie

  • Hi Davie

Thats a great fly to bring in the new year with. The rib material you used is it like a braid? I will have to try it out I have some seal fur dubbing ordered and in the mail.

What fish are yall targeting there this time of the year?

    Thanks for the great videos

    Chance

  • Hi Chance,

Fishing for Grayling is the one I like most at this time of year. You can also fish for rainbows in the small fisheries that are open all year round but it's been so cold lately that the lochs are frozen solid..

    All the best Davie

  • Davie, thanks for bringing the jungle bunny back again with the addition of the legs. I had great sport with this one on the lakes of Killarney this past season. If you get a chance later on in the year you might tye one of my favourites the Clan Chief. All the best for 2010 Cheers, Donie,Cork City..
