GABRIELE BALDOCCI - BIOGRAPHY
Gabriele Baldocci was born in Livorno (Italy) on May 10th 1980. He started studying piano at the age of six, with M Ilio Barontini and he received his piano Diploma with the highest ranking. He won several competition, and he gave concerts in very important musical centers like Tonhalle in Zurich, Parco della Musica in Rome, Teatro Colòn in Buenos Aires, Sala Verdi in Milan, Auditorium RTSI in Lugano, Teatro Ghione in Rome, Palacio des Festivales in Santander. He played for very important festivals around the world like Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano, Vendsyssel Festival in Denmark, Martha Argerich Festival in Buenos Aires, Erasmo Capilla International Music Festival in Mexico. Very active as a teacher, he is regularly invited to give Masterclasses in the most important Universities and Musical Institutions of the world.

In 2007 he recorded Nino Rota's Complete works for Strings and Piano with violinist Marco Fornaciari, which was released worldwide by ARTS. He will soon record Nino Rota's Complete Piano works for the same label.

As a chamber musician, he often plays with personalities like Martha Argerich, Ivry Gitlis, Alexander Rabinovitch-Barakovski, Dora Schwarzberg, Mark Drobinskij, Marco Fornaciari, Daniel Rivera.

In 2003 he was the winner of the Special Honorable Mention at the Second Martha Argerich Piano Competition in Buenos Aires, receiving enthusiastic appreciations from the legendary argentinan pianist, with whom he now often collaborates. In 2003 he also got the American VAMG career prize. In 2008 he won the Third Prize at the prestigious Alessandro Casagrande International Piano competition in Terni, Italy.

In september 2005 he was invited by Martha Argerich to tour Argentina with her and the orchestra "Sinfonietta Argerich" playing Beethoven Fourth Piano Concerto. In February 2008 he started his piano duo with Argerich and he had performed with her regularly since then. He gives concerts in Europe, America and Asia both as a soloist and with important orchestras.

From 1995 to 1999 he studied in the Accademia Pianistica Incontri con il Maestro in Imola with Franco Scala. During those years he also received lessons from Alexander Lonquich and Alexis Weissenberg. On 1999 he became a student of Paul Badura-Skoda, and at the same time he was invited to the prestigious International Piano Academy on Lake Como. During the five years he spent in the Academy as a student, he had the opportunity to perform for the most outstanding teachers in the world, such as Lèon Fleisher, Alicia De Larrocha, Dmitri Bashkirov, Fou Ts'Ong, Charles Rosen, Andreas Staier, Claude Frank receiving always enthusiastic congratulations from them. During those years, his main teacher was William Grant Naboré, the artistic director of the school. In 2008 he completed his studies with Sergio Perticaroli, obtaining his Doctorate in Piano Performance at the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia in Rome with the highest ranking.

In 2009 he started a piano duet with the argentinian pianist Daniel Rivera, with whom he is going to release a recording of Russian music.

Gabriele Baldocci is professor of piano at the Conservatory of Potenza, in the South of Italy and official Ambassador and Artistic Director of the Martha Argerich Presents Project in the world.
