I think some people fail to realize how fast technology is advancing. Within the last 100 years, there have been major developments since the advent of the computer that dominate anything that's happened a thousand years or more prior. Technology is accelerating at an exponential rate, just look around you. 8 years doesn't seem long, but you will be surprised when you see what the world had developed by then.

Some people are underestimating technological advancment but I do agree, this being around 9 years from now is a bit of a stretch, maybe the late 2020s, 2025 at best.
