When The Boat Comes In (or Dance Ti Thy Daddy) is a traditional English folk song, originating in Northumberland. It was popularised as the theme tune to the 1970s BBC drama serial When The Boat Comes In in an arrangement by the composer David Fanshawe.

I have never attempted it before tonight, and my attempt at a Northumbrian accent is probably abysmal, but I have wanted to sing it for a while and having just come across the lyrics in this variant have given it a try.

Sounds good, although you're singing the newer TV version rather than the original which is better in my humble opinion. My mum used to sing it to me when I was little.

@imaginaryteaparty As I come from the Isle of Man, I have only heard this song on radio or TV in the past, but I did check out other versions before recording this. I would be interested to hear an older version if you know the whereabouts of one. Thanks for the information.
