There is a Theatre Organ stop brighter, thinnner, and louder than the English Post Horn. It's a "Serpent". Only a few of these ranks ever made by Kimball, Austin, and Harvey Heck (a organ technician). The sound is like a rip saw cutting through sheet metal. Very useful and attention getting for accents, stabs, 2nd touch, and counter melodies. Cannot really use it to blend with the other stops of the organ because it's two bright and loud. Sometimes used with the Xylophone with good effect.
@goodchappy - Yes I know. So does Southampton Guildhall and Odeaon Leicester Sq. Both wonderful Comptons. But the Compton posaune is nothing like the post horn (or English post horn) that kiwiplant is referring to. The former is a smooth tromba-like stop, the latter is the snarliest brassiest loud trumpety sound ever, found on Wurlitzers.
Portsmouth? Are you thinking of the Ex-Gaumont Palace, Wood Green Compton at Gosport? There is a similarity to the style of the console and music desk but Gosport only has 3 manuals and the console is finished in polished wood, not painted like Hammersmith.

@jazzboyfin The Watford Colosseum (Town Hall) Compton has a Posaune.

@kiwiplant It's a trumpet Paul. Comptons didn't usually have post horns. Cheers Pete

Is that a post horn or a really snarly trumpet at 0:20 ? The spec I found on the cinema organ site doesn't have a PH as one of the 15 ranks.

The song is called 'Why Can't You Behave?'. It was written by Cole Porter for his 1948 musical 'Kiss Me Kate'.
