  • This week in Rio Blanco, Veracruz, the worlds largest flower bloomed after 40 years of dormancy. This is the natural cycle of the Amorphophallus Titanum. This unique flower, originally from Indonesia, blooms for a short three to five days and even then, only once every 40 years. To attract the insects that will perform the important task of pollen exchange, this gorgeous flower gives off the scent of rotting meat, earning it the apt nickname Flor Cadavérica Flower of Death.
