Yeah, this is just a crazy version and performance. Beck's great as always. Imogen's presence is amazing. And Tal, well, she's just cute as hell and helps rock it. The drummer just drives it forward.
And gosh, using effects has never been a crime. It worked for Les Paul, Jimi, Clapton, Page and many others.

I wish I was there...WOW

This gives me chills - not something that happens nearly enough! Maybe I should listen to Jeff Beck more often. I can't agree that it needs a harmonica or anytghing else; it's just fine as it is.
Many thanks for posting this.

I wish they did album after album with each other. I love this sound.

Now that was cookin'. There are points during the song where Beck's guitar sounds remarkably like a harmonica. What monster playing on this, he's so on.

could use a harmonica, maybe - a a real gospel/R&B blues wailer - but a decent cover

Tal pushes out a dookie when Imogene starts a wailin'

dubstep with guitar
This is a very tasty version of Beauty & the Beast.
Disagree with the comment that the guitar playing for this tune is nothing but effects. It is suitably gritty, punchy, and the perfect counterpoint to the sweet voice of Heap.

@ilawton Really? So cream's version is true to the original? How about the other thousand covers. Are they all tragic? If all the blues and jazz artists of the 20's didn't steal and build on what came before where would music be? And then every decade after that artists stealing and building on what came before. Dude I don't want to listen to some cat beating on a hollow log with a rock! I respect your opinion but, lighten up!
