I was there too. It is scandelous that this airfield of 90 years heritage, memorial to pilots who trained here, went to war and didnt return, gifted to the city by Sir Henry Wigram was sold down the river for so called 'development.' This country is slutting it's heritage and culture for a buck, truly sickening. It was well used, so wasnt just a white elephant. They had a dog demo at the show, asked for a 'criminal', well, CCC or Ngai Tahu, tempting to have called that out!
