On-board footage from practice session around Daytona Sandown Park on the Biz Pro-kart. Great circuit with a number of different layouts possible by using various cut-throughs and running in reverse - which keeps the monthly In-Kart Championship interesting - with a different layout every round!! RM ;-)

  • Yes - I came 2nd in the Senior Heavies Championship in 2005. RM ;-)

  • Is turn 7 full throttle or do you keep tight? I have tried eveything now and the fastest i got was 51.568, i know its possible to get ino 50's because i have seen pople do it.

  • From the tight right hander at the end of the back straight under race control I tend to stay tight to the left coming down the hill for a wide entry/late apex into the last hairpin to carry as much speed onto start/finish straight as possible. If Owen Jenman is working there next time you go - see if you can get him to look at your lines and give you any tips. He's in the Easykart championship and always disappears in the Dmax sprints - so is probably one of the best Daytona guys to ask. RM ;-)

  • Thats pretty much the same line i take. I have gotten round Esher in 50.05 in the prokart. Never quite managed to break the 50 sec barrier though. Its been bugging me for ages.

  • My best so far is a 50.018 - so imagine how pissed I was that day when I saw the timesheet.....!!! RM ;-)

  • When i went recently the pro-kart i was using was sliding so much than normal. Is there a difference with each kart you drive?

  • Oh yes - there can be quite a lot of difference between karts in handling and performance - especially with the older ones. If you do the In-Kart series where you jump in and out of different karts all day on a sunday once a month - you get to remember the small numbers painted on the nassau panel of the ones you really want to get.......or want to avoid! RM ;-)

  • its tough on t7, but isnt flat. ive got a 49.632

  • Would've been nice if you had displayed each laptime after that lap for us beginners to learn something...

  • my first time in junior racing there i got 33.37, i think top was like 30 seconds or somethin...

  • hey RM, do you do the inkart championship?

I won the 2010 Junior Heavy Inkart Championship at Sandown Park :D :D

  • Did a test session last week in heavy rain (and dark). That was an experience. Ive been round on a slightly damp/drying track before, but never proper wet. Lap times of 66-67 seconds. Was worthwhile though, probably learnt more in that session than i have in all year.

  • Hahahahaha ye I quelifed 2 !

  • Anybody qualify for the NKA watching this lol!
