That hardly goes for metal alone...
Most bands (of any genre) sing/scream in English because it's the most global language there is. Why not make yourself understandable to as many as possible?
Equilibrium (a symphonic black metal band... or folk metal... or whatever) have all of their lyrics in german, by the way.

dimmu borgirs earlier stuff has alot of screaming in different languages

why do all metal bands scream in english? i dont see many good bands screaming in other languages
