  • Something special about a record going around that a cd can never replace,and with the hiss sound its all so real.

  • @Crockerish I totally agree. There's definitely something more "real" about it and I can't come up with a better word for it either.

  • Wonder how modern music would sound on these. I wish we had some LP's. we have a player in the garage still. I also wish that these old songs would play on mainstream stations and such

  • I agree too. It was noticeable likewise in the middle 1990's when for a while our daughter's university marching/concert band switched to recording on DAT (digital audio tape) from regular analog tape; which didn't last. The next switch "up" was to CD's. Same result: something missing in the playback. Nobody can prove it, but the ear just KNOWS, doesn't it.

  • From Edison and Victor to the "45" and LP, no matter what the era, there's is something so magical about a whirling disc!
