Hi my name is Melissa Serafin. I live in Loxton. I am a wife and mother of 2 beautiful boys. My inspiration to become a doula came from my struggle to come to terms with the birth of my first son - 23 hours of labour and subsequent emergency caesarean section. I studied and gained information on having a VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Caesarean) and began the journey of attempting my own VBAC.
During this time I felt lonely, stressed and very afraid. I felt there was little encouragement or support for me.
However after experiencing an amazing VBAC birth with my second son, it gave me the inspiration to share my knowledge and be there to support and encourage women to give birth the way they had planned and not the way they were being told to.
Pregnancy and birth should be an amazing experience for you and your partner and it would be an honour to help you achieve your dreams.
