to tell the truth he was good at both jobs. just at a crappy time

I don't see why people think it's so bad. Ya, his pattern gets reversed a lot, but overall for a non-musician I'd say it was pretty darn good. He knew the piece really well - even gave cues - and he was enthusiastic and looked like the music. A big part of being a conductor is being a "cheerleader." He didn't just beat beats, he actually felt the music and showed it. This is a patriotic song, and that's exactly how his conducting would have made me feel if I were playing.

not to be a pretentious musician, but his pattern's backwards most of the time and it physically hurts me to watch it :p lol

@TheMichiganfan39 That was FDR and he wasn't strong enough to walk. JFK wasn't so smart as he was a skirt chaser. W was the son of a President, born in Connecticut, Harvard and Yale grad, who milked a phony country boy image to win the Texas governorship because daddy knew southern governors do well in presidential elections. That is why W's brother became governor of Florida. Daddy Bush's plan worked for the most part and prince W got elected twice to be President. Bro never got to play prez.

Pretty good job-of course, the band is known as "the President's own" As an aside, Presidents and their administartions have to be over for at least FIFTY YEARS before historians can judge their quality.
Lydon B. Johnson as strong?? More like naive. Also under Kenedy might as well put "player"
