And So It Goes - HD - Billy Joel - Acappella - Multitrack Collaboration with Jason Perry

My oldest son Jason came to me saying he would like to do a multitrack video. He has done one with his brothers and I before (In My Room - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3al_W1XGOL4). When he asked me what I thought he should do, I suggested Billy Joel's, And So It Goes (arranged by Kirby Shaw). I originally heard this song performed by UnderAge Quartet, the 2005 International Young Women In Harmony Champions. The group now goes by LoveNotes. Jason listened to the youtube version until he learned each part. He couldn't quite hit the bass notes, so he asked me to do it. We had a good time working on this together. I think he did a wonderful job and I am very proud of him. There is nothing like making good music with your son. :) We hope you enjoy!

  • In a society that promotes rudeness, a lack of emotion, distance from family and instant gratification, it makes my cold little heart proud and chokes me up to see a father passing his skills and gifts on to the next generation. Jason - be proud of your father. Even when you grow up and things may not always be perfect, this is a father. Beautiful. The music is too. I hope that, when you grow up and have kids of your own, the relationship carries down.

  • Wow!! Great job! I'm in honor choir and we are attempting this version this fall. I wasn't excited because I didn't trust the SATB of such a great song but now I am super excited! Keep it up!!

  • Don't stop singing, kid. Ever.

  • You're inspiring. And your video startup thing is super creative. :3 Good job.

  • Great job excellent very pretty

  • It surely is amazing. Only as well as making me smile, it brought a tear of joy to my eye. What a wonderful way for a father and son to share time together.

  • Amazing! I can't really think of the right words... But this made me, and I'm sure a lot of other folks, SMILE.

    Great job!

  • This is great but I've got to spread the word. Take out the American 'r'. It's just my preference. Any singer and any song can sound great with those 'r's in there, but without them, the sound is so much more professional. Sadly, today, professionals sing with these 'r's but I can't stand them. Blame my jr high teacher. She was amazing but now I hate American 'r's in music. Haha I tell my students sing British or australian. Otherwise, sounds great.

  • Fantastic! Great job guys!

  • Y

ou should be proud. It's funny, listening to several versions on YT, I thought how fun it would be to do all parts (53yo) but you beat me to it. And I wouldn't sound near as good. Nice work.

  • Vance and Jason...there is no better time spent between Father and Son than in harmony singing. If anyone teases you over your choice of things to do for fun, Jason, just ignore them and know that you and your Dad have something very special that not many youngsters your age will ever have. Treasure these times.

  • OMG. Chills!!!!!
