A sincere tribute to the beautiful Louise Brooks who came from my home state of Kansas.
She was as fascinating and intelligent as she was beautiful.

@aeschmann You mean F.W. Pabst? Yes, maybe so. Weimar Germany was a very short period of time when a lot of great cinema and art was created. But it lasted only five years or so, because the first few years were plagued by hyperinflation. And after that, once everything that could go wrong in Germany really did go wrong and the Nazis took over, it was the end of an era, the end of the world for a vast number of people. Maybe Pabst felt there was no point in going on after that.

I think Louise Brooks was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, but skankdom didn't start with the current generation...there were plenty of them in the twenties and even before that, they just hid it better...that was the trick...and you'll never see that kind of discretion again in your lifetime...we've already reached the point of no return.
