A few strategies to help you gain entry to the offensive zone in NHL 11, for Versus or EASHL.

They may seem obvious to some but I have seen people just continue to get crushed at the blue line when it's really actually pretty simple to not get laid out, and set up a scoring opportunity as well.

This is the first video in what I hope to be an ever-growing series that will continue into NHL 12.

If you have any ideas, comments or suggestions be sure to comment and let me know what you think, or if there is a part of your game that you would like me to do a video on to help you improve it.

  • All you showed was "skate across the blue line because the AI doesn't pressure you until you're already in the zone, then spin on yourself to make room for a pass." That's hardly a technique to 'gain the zone', since all you're doing to gain the zone is skating up and that's exactly what people do online; they skate in a straight line and get laid out by non-retarded human defenders who actually pressure.

  • @Daiyuki117 Haha, believe it or not I had a harder time doing this VS the AI. I have a video in the works of how effective these are on humans, obviously you have to tweak a little bit when playing a human. These are BASIC techniques as stated in the description.

If the "non-retarded human defender" is going to lay you out, just do a stop and turn and you will bump right off him or just skate right around him.

Like I said this is a beginner vid and i'm sure this will help plenty of people :)

  • saw your posts on the EA board Keep the vids coming man !

  • @XxHarounXx Thanks, appreciate it!

  • Good job on the videos. I thought about doing something like this when NHL11 came out and even went out to by a capture device but I never followed through on the tutorials, just ended up posting some random vids online. Anyway, keep it up.

  • @omarv81 Thanks. Yeah This is basically why I bought my capture card too...Too much free time and too much NHL 11. Nifty device to have around anyways. Hope you enjoy my vids..should have some good NHL 12 vids once thats out ..42 days! (39 if you plan on using the season ticket thing, i guess lol)

  • dude thank you so much

  • @ISteppedOnATurd Thanks, I appreciate the criticism, and I agree on most parts. I'm actually in the middle of playing EASHL right now and I've recorded 4-5 uses of these plays already resulting in goals.

I will post another video something this weekend for sure, I'm glad you're sticking around for them.

I just got this card yesterday so this video was my first and more of a test run more than anything

As for recording I use a Blackmagic Intensity Pro with 2 HDMI cords, editing in Sony Vegas.
