@3To3dSl0th The style clearly fits the Romanitc/Industrial era, no?
-
I lol'd when I say hunting and animal husbandry as options on the tech list.

@aznphil88 so basically you agree with him?

6:07 That's the same music that appears in A Clockwork Orange when Alex reads the Bible and imagines himself in an orgy after a battle...
-
The short violin solo right near the end is spectacular!

i can't disagree this music is epic
but i can't disagree with you that civ4 had some bad ass music in it
-
had this stuck in my head all day... i couldn't remember what it was

Marvelous!

@operations1000 If you can't appreciate music like this, I'm sorry, but you really need to re-evaluate your musical interests.
Wow, I forgot this song was in Civ IV. I remember watching Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut, and I knew this song sounded familiar! I'm surprised it's in the Industrial Age, though. Wouldn't it fit better in Renaissance or Medieval?

@3To3dSl0th
The instrumentation wouldn't fit very well with the Medieval age I don't think, and it doesn't quite hold the emotional context to fit well with the Renaissance... but that's my opinion at least.

I remember working up this piece and performing it in high school band. I love it.

Wow, that's pretty good for a high school band I'd say. What did you play, and what chair were you... if I may ask.

@Grahckheuhl I actually misspoke. We did a Scheherazade Marching show...definitely my favorite of my time there. So it was a little more simple than this...but to your point, our director went out of his way to push us as musicians, and we played some damn good music as a result haha.
And I played trumpet. When we played this, I woulda been around 3rd chair overall (playing 1st chair parts, you know?). When the number 1 graduated, I went back and forth with a girl as 1st and 2nd chair.

@Big38Z
More directors need to push their students. I had one in just junior high who did a magnificent job with doing such and I turned out fairly decent with that! Then in high school I got a director who absolutely hated me, and that didn't do me so well, and then a piece of me died when my C-star mouth piece for my tenor saxophone cracked.
Still, I managed to be invited with the Michigan Ambassadors of Music to go play in Europe for two weeks, so I didn't turn out too bad... years ago...
