Obama Bows To Saudi King

Americans, especially American Presidents, don't bow to royalty. American Presidents who have sworn a holy war on the ghastly evil of carbon emissions really shouldn't be scraping and bowing to a Saudi King. There is no excuse for this.

Notice he does a full bow, with his right leg going back to support his weight as his knee bends. Bending your knee is a supremely different bow then bending from the waist. It's a practiced bow you give to a man you consider your superior. It's not a sign of respect. It's a sign of subservience.

Go ahead and try it yourself, and then look back at the video.

Would Obama bow to the Queen of England? She merits a head nod. Would he bow to the Emperor of Japan? Why in the world would he genuflect to a foreign king? And why isn't the American media up in arms at this?

Bowing, or more accurately, bending one knee, is understood the world over to be subservience. Obama has never been seen bowing to any other world leader, and no American president has ever done such a thing.

@24thstate Actually Obama bowed to the emperor of Japan too and it's a sign of respect. Stop trying to make mountains out of mole hills. You recognize that it's a cultural custom to hold hands but not a cultural custom to bow? chill out it lasted like one second. The bow isn't the problem. The problem is that our government and entire media ignores Saudi Arabia and all the horrible things they do. Like for example that a fair amount of the 9/11 attackers were Saudi Arabian. Focus on substance.
