Helpful tutorial on configuring iSCSI with OpenFiler and Microsoft iSCSI Initialiser. However, this may not the full story; there are some crucial configuration steps missing or perhaps changed since the version on which this tutorial is presented. Still very worthwhile.
How are you using this for DRS or HA? The Linux iSCSI Enterprise Target (IETd) that ships with openfiler doesn't allow multiple initiators to a single iSCSI target, so there's no way to share the space. Also you'd have to configure the VMWare ESX host, not the guests, with the iSCSI LUN you created on openfiler, then create a VMFS volume to store the VMware Guest images.
Thanks for the extremely helpful video. I just downloaded and installed v2.3, and while a couple of the screens have moved, the concepts still apply.
