Luis Trenker - Life in Urtijëi (St. Ulrich)

Luis has been a big hero of ours for a number of years. Born in our hometown Urtijëi (or St. Ulrich, as you may say in German), he initially worked as an architect and later became a renowned author and film-director. His work, often folkloric and heroic in it's tone, has been hugely influenced by our homeland of Southern Tirol and the people that live here. We spent hours of our youth watching his films about hiking tours and skiing competitions on TV. He therefore will always remain close to our hearts.

In this short video he talks a bit about our hometown and his family. Unfortunately It's all in German. We might add subtitles later though. Enjoy.
