Yes, because very often in America the super rich are simply people who were born into poverty, raised in the ghetto amongst hopeless conditions...and overcame that to become rich lol. If so, it's because the rich make soooo much more than the masses. However, where is the other 57%? I do not feel sorry for the rich as being greedy and sefish get's them into those positions. They also hide secret healthcare from the rest of society!

When people can spend a million dollars on a party - which most people will never see in their lifetimes, why should the poor pay a lot of taxes? I assume you tax the poor because there are more of them than the weatlhy. The wealthy can afford to be taxed and the poorer cannot. Taxes really takes a bite out of their budgets. Rich people don't even miss it. They are just spoiled and not used to sharing unless they it's a charity in their name to stroke their ego.

No, I get my version from listening to the talk shows! You guys are not about liberty and justice, you are about greed, racism and selfishness. The Republicans of Lincoln's time were not the same from the 1960's-today. The current are from the racist element in the country who moved to the party due to racism which is why they had JFK killed. Obviously you get your image of what true conservatism is from some liberal source. The ideals of conservatism and individual liberty are what freed the slaves (Lincoln was a republican).

But you are right, conservatives believe the government shouldn't be giving things to people. The government's job is to protect us and to maintain the order in this country. Not to take from those who have and give to those who don't.

That is not what conservativism is. It is the belief in being greedy, recisy, selfish and it represents the corporate interests, not the people's interest. They are also anti-government because they want to do whatever and not be held accountable for it. Personal responsibility is code for "we are not giving you shit, you get your own." If there were no laws, everyone would be out getting theirs! How can a black person be a conservative? How much do you want to conserve? Slavery?
