Thunderkids 2

Sequel to Thunderkids (search higher quality version), paying homage to the great Thunderbirds series. In this episode the Thunder Kids have to rescue a spaceman after his spacecraft gets hit by an asteroid and crashes towards the sea.

This episode features TB1, TB2 and TB4 (perhaps surprisingly), and no TB3 (again perhaps surprisingly) since the spacecraft was not in space for long. Plus I haven't got a big TB3.

This episode was made 6 years and 3 months after the first. It just took me that long to get around to it (whilst making an indy feature monstersmovie(dot)com) but we decided to do it after so many of you requested it. My kids have grown up, so we used the same footage of them as before, with a 5 year old Jon as Scott, and a 7 year old Laurie as Virgil. Although Jon also now played Gordon as an 11 year old. Dad plays the victim again.

I used models for many of the effects but have also used some computer Graphics. The asteroid was CGI, as were the particle effects, including the smoke, which I think looks quite real in places. Sorry for the bath effects but we wanted some of it to look a bit tongue-in-cheek so people know this was for fun and we are not trying to match Gerry Anderson. Enjoy.

its amazing that i had the very same toy 43 years ago the Thunderbird 2 with a TB 4 inside ! . and BTW great job. :)

@badawg1962 Cheers. Actually this particular toy is a fairly modern one. You had another version. But I know what you mean because I had an old TB1 in the 60s or 70s.

@fatducksareobese Thanks. Actually having the string on the human hand was an idea we had because in the J Frakes film version he had a puppet hand in close-up for the human actors. Hard to spot but it is there when they are launching one of the Thunderbirds.
