A test with a Patz mixer model 1400 to improve the uses of cardboard for food waste composting. The initial form of the cardboard is a problem to composting. Shredding it take a lot of time in small operation. The mixer can reduce the cardboard in smaller pieces in a very short time, reduce the volume of the initial mix and improve the composting time. The mixer can also open compostable bags. Knifes addition on the screw can improve the cutting effect on materials.
