As part of the National VOAD conference, more than 200 volunteers from different volunteer and government agencies participated in a service project to prepare 2,000 disaster relief packs on Wednesday (May 12).
The packs will be pre-positioned at local food banks across the state in advance of hurricane season through... an innovative partnership between the global health care company Abbott and Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity.
The service project is being organized in partnership with VOAD and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
