This is a clip of a Speech Therapy session of Charlie, a 4-1/2 year old with autism, and his therapist Beth on February 11, 2009. You can see more at www.MommiesintheHood.com. After 32 months of speech therapy, and being essentially non-verbal, Charlie started with a new speech therapist, who after 3 weeks of therapy twice a week, had a break-through. This is 4 1/2 months later, it is a slow process, but the progress is astounding! It's heart-wrenching for any parent who knows what it is like to have a non-verbal child with autism!
