of course, a black guy did it. lol
i'm not a racist and you say the ppl involved in it are black, but you've got to understand that there are certain stereotypes in the media...that's why ppl react that way.

Stereotypes in the media huh? What country are you from? Here in SA almost every media group is owned by an ethnic group, furthermore it is against the constitution to mention or even allude to the ethnicity of the perpetrator(s) of a crime. So how exactly are we perpetuating this "stereotype"?
Oh, and I didn't call you a racist.. I have no means to judge you on that. I simply dont know you. Maybe you should look inside yourself, see the type of mentality that this "stereotype" is perpetuate by.

I'm obviously talking about the mainstream stereotypes created by the United States. And whether you like it or not, they apply in many countries, more or less, specially in the movie industry. There are books about it, theories of communication and such studies. It wouldn't harm checking them out. Then again, you may belong to the percentage of ppl who don't fall into one of those stereotypes. But the majority..that's another story. Say..the majority of youtube users? Get it now?

Yes, I studied audience studies for 2 years as a major at, including race representation in the media. I believe the studies of perpetuating racial stereotypes are listed along with catharsis, mass theory and the idea that violent films breed violent people. Point is its archaic thinking, people will believe what they want. Regardless, representing a black killer in a film cannot be faulted. In fact, taken contextually he's a serial killer.. & for once he's not white, so it breaks the stereotype

Actually, it doesn't. The stereotype about the black or the latino being criminals is stronger, as a result of decades of attitude cultivation into audiences, Or why else would ppl react the to your "remake" with the same type of comments? Nice chit chat tho.

Nice chit chat indeed. I had one comment, would you base the response of an entire audience on the voice of one, well two including you. Anyway, it was meant for two audiences my class (South African) and the world (youtube). Would you say the 'stereotype' holds true in most of Africa? Asia? The middle-east? As this constitutes over 2/3rds of the world I think its safe to say that this is far from an irresponsible film. How about Tsotsi? That won an oscar?
