My review for Bio-Hazard Battle for the Sega Genesis. This is a 1 or 2 player side scrolling SHMUP with a pulse pounding soundtrack and unique world.

  • I have a ROM of this on my PC but I could never get very far...maybe I was using the wrong weapons.

Anyway youre right, its an awesome game.

  • try the ship I was using (its fast) and keep the seeking laser weapon.

  • I really like these reviews that you are doing.

  • thanks :) I am thinking of trying out the dazzle thingy...I might see how much I can get one for tomorrow.

  • Sweet review man.

  • @SwerveStarEx This is the game me and my cousin burnt his Genesis out on.

    FUCK THAT THIRD LEVEL!

  • @00Freedom14 Ah. Probably why this is called Bio Hazard Battle.

  • Your idea of the story is close, but a couple details are off. The "alien infection" was caused by a biological weapon that was made in a war that wiped out virtually all life on the planet (Avaron). You're actually going back to the planet in the distant future to look for inhabitable land.

I LOVED this game as a kid. It was my first SHMUP. ^^ It seems easy now that I've played Touhou, but it still holds a special place in my heart.

  • i used to rent this game every couple months when i was a kid, i loved this game.

  • The idea of re-entering atmosphere in the first stage and the music on it really hyped me when i played this. I guess i was 12 or so. By those days it seemed a game a bit crappy beacuse no 1 knew about it, but i got fascinated anyway. Twenty years after that, my veredict is that this amazing game was a step, *BUT* only A STEP away from being a rival for i.e. thunderforce IV. Maybe a deepest plot, a few cinematics, and a bit of commercial love (the artwork in the box & main screen is awful..)

  • This game is fuckin reat. Definitely a must have for anybody with a Genesis.

  • Got this one awhile back for my Genesis, great creepy atmosphere, and quite underrated. The entire game has a nice organic feel to it, a break from the usual mechanical level shmups.

  • Is the Wii Virtual console version 2 player as well?

  • Nice video!

    MVHH

  • I have such fond memories of this game.. used to play it over my best friends' house. Thanks for reviewing a classic!
