This is the late Sande Mack, activist and tv producer talking about the "founder" of the AIDS quilt. This is a clip from the Steven Keller Show, the interviewer is Steven Keller.
He also talks about the toxic AIDS drugs that gave him a heart attack. Read below Sande's own words:

Many of you know when we at Electric City see blatant lies there is no choice but to address the issue.
The issue at hand is the new "ghost written" tome [Stitching A Revolution], full of false statements, by Cleve Jones who is not the creator of the Names Quilt.
I was handed an interview Cleveta gave to a New England gay rag that was full of inaccurate historical statements.
First, let me say I have lived and have been a street activist in San Francisco for thirty-five years. Now I read our history rewritten, yet again, starring Cleve Jones.
False statement number one -- Cleve states he has been HIV positive since the Seventies. There was no test, nor was there a virus called HIV, until the eighties.
Second falsehood -- Cleve states "he has been a street activist for twenty years." All I ever saw was a drunken drag queen we had to step over to get out the door. Cleve was that drag queen. He does mention hustling -- as in whoring -- I recall and that is the only true statement in the entire article.
I must mention the *real* creator of the Names Quilt was Joseph Durant. We took the names of our dead comrades and hung them on the wall of City Hall as an action while Cleve was doing lines of white powder behind City Hall.
Joseph saw this mass of names and said "we should make a quilt with their names on it." Joseph went home and started the original panel. Cleve was drunk and tripping the same evening. Cocaine is expensive.
False statement three -- Cleve claims to have led the march on City Hall called the White Night Riots. Now Tom Ammiano was in the streets. Gilbert Baker of the rainbow flag was there. But I don't recall seeing Cleve that night.
Jump to the early nineties and the infamous Pink Saturday produced by Cleve Jones, the beneficiary of this expensive pre-Gay Parade extravaganza, through Joker Productions -- yes, owned by Cleve Jones. Thirty thousand dollars was taken and never found. Cleve went to Europe until the "Pink Stink" had gone from the front pages.
Cleve was confronted by the women of ACT UP upon his return and had no answers as to where the money was or his involvement. Cleve passed the blame on to mismanagement by others. He named Alan White and others but did not take responsibility for his production company Joker Productions.
So we have a liar, a cheat, a former Supervisor candidate (he lost) rewriting our history.
If we allow this egomaniac to take credit for a dead man's creation we are part of the Big Lie. With all those now-dead activists pushed aside and Cleveta taking credit for their work, I will not allow him to turn lies into a distorted view of the battle we all fought.
The Karma Cleve carries around will take him down. Meanwhile he lives off money gained by lies and fraud and owns a very comfortable house on the Russian River paid for by Quilt Money. Most people I know from that period are still renting in San Francisco. Funny. He got rich and the rest of us did not sell out.
Don't buy the book. I speak for those now-dead, real fighters. Cleveta is not to be trusted. The incorporator (read money-maker) did not create the Quilt.
Now the Quilt is rented by Macys' for a White Sale. Do you want your friends for rent? I agree with most -- its time to burn the rag and make Cleve Jones accountable for his lies and actions.
I was there.
Cleve pushed Joseph Durant out of the opening night of the Names Quilt -- I have the video footage. Joseph died soon after. Cleve and company incorporated and made money from people who died of AIDS, my love Mark Wang included.
