Where is it getting those 400 movies from? an external hard drive? and how does it get all of the information, pictures of the movies?

@shares88 im pretty sure plex is just a modified version of xbmc. xbmc has been around for a long time. Plex is sweet though, just wish they worked on other os than mac

Hey man great video... I was thinking about getting an apple TV2 and I was wondering if you thought that it was worth it after all... So the apple TV2 does not connect to Netflix? Also every title you are scrolling through up there is saved on a hard drive correct? What format are you downloading the files in and will the info self populate when the title is recognized? Hopefully I hear back from you on my questions. Thanks for the help.

@BaconMoustache Sure, the new AppleTV can run XBCM just fine, you just have to jailbrake it ;) Yes, the movies are stored in network hard drives, and XBMC is pretty much like VNC, it can playback almost any format. XBMC uses scrapers to downlod metadata for movies and TV shows, so all the info is downloaded automatically.

Yup, from an external hard drive connected to an Airport Extreme. As for the movie covers and info, XBMC does it all for you. Check out xbmc.org

It's the default skin for the latest XBMC, so no, no extra settings. Have fun!

It's the MediaStream skin, very similar to what Plex uses. And yes, it runs beautifully on the Apple TV.
