Youth from The 4 Island Lake First Nations walking from Norway House to Winnipeg to raise awareness about youth issues. Interviewed by Niki Ashton at Ponton, Manitoba. March 2008.
I just want to tell you all that you can make it. I grew up with 2 mentally ill parents a drunk diabetic father who beat us. Eventually my mother left him and from there we went to the ghetto. I was kicked out as a teenage girl latched on to the first bad ass that would give me some where to live. I became a serious alcoholic and well... I turned the pages. I went back to school became a college proffesor and married a business man. I have 3 healthy daughters and a sucsessful marriage.
Keep your dreams alive no matter what!
