Bergman surely has to be the most sensual film maker ever and the most psychologically profound.

One of my favorite Bergman films and Shame.

You should really see this movie in the context of Bergman's Persona, Shame, and A Passion (The Passion of Anna in the U.S.) They are all inter-related thematically with more or less the same cast. Each film enriched the others. In some ways, Hour of the Wolf is an extension of Persona which preceded it.

I fell in love with "The Seventh Seal" before I even knew who Bergman was, so yeah.

I love how Bergman created this ambiance in this movie, I literally felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I think Hollywood with all of their blood, gore and foolish, comic horror storylines have a lot to learn.

i have to humbly agree with you. Der Vargtimmen is one of the greatest fims ever. Bergman was only as 'deep/shallow' as the viewer/audience. I think some call that ART.
