This is a demonstration of how the SmoothCam Filter in Final Cut Pro works. It has two examples with a side by side comparison for both.
The footage was shot in HDV with the Sony HDR-HC1. I shot it all handheld.
SmoothCam comes standard with Final Cut Pro 6.0 or later. It is basically an automatic motion tracking plug in designed to eliminate camera shake.
It tracks the motion of the clip, enlarges the image so the shot will stay smooth. Hence, SmoothCam.
It's a great way to get a Steady Cam look without buying or renting all the gear that comes with it. I highly recommend everyone to give it a shot.

  • Man I love color correction on that one, could you give any help on how to achieve this kind of effect?

  • @wojciech94 Yeah! I use the "Mishandled Negative" effect Magic Bullet Looks. Hope that helps!
