  • @DickTheFiddler There is one, but it's not of this

performance. (Sir John Barbirolli, Caballe, Cossotto,

Vickers, R. Raimondi on EMI label) Amazon.com

    has it.

  • There is a CD available from one of the pirates, House of Opera or something. But, be aware that the quality is horrible. The sound in these videos is much better. Now, where is the video of the whole performance? Caballe was etherial, heavenly.

  • Thanks! Is this the 1980 televised performance with Domingo, Berini and Plishka? If so, there was an interview with the soloists after the performance, also televised. Caballe had gone into what she describes as a trance during the performance. If memory serves correctly, Domingo physically supported her as they went in for the interview. She was close to fainting, and asked "Sit I where?". Her discussion of singing the Verdi was inspirational. I wish for a video of this telecast.

  • amazing...the climax of the presentation and the camera man decides to show us the conductor

  • I have to play this over and over again. I wish there was a full CD of her performing it. Her voice can soar above the entire orchestra and chorus together, and without edge.
